Jamgon Sangey Phuntsog

He was born in 1649 in the earthen ox year of 11th rabjung, amidst the nomadic tribe of trewa of lower ngari, as the son to father namru yungdrung kyab and mother phambu dren. rat year of the tenth rabjung as the son of Father dorje thar and mother gyuzag in minyag dhunpar of dhokham and was named konchok tashi.

At sixteen years of age, he got ordained under the guidance of scholar, noble and great kunga legpa and received number of teachings. At twenty first years of age, he received the kindness in the form of three vows from Jamgon Palchok Gyaltsen and jamyang Namkha Palsang at Ngor Evam Choedhen. 

From a total of just more than twenty spiritual masters including those abbot and preceptor, ngawang sonam gyaltsen, tsungmed (matchless) thamchoe samdrup and so on received number of teachings and became a scholar. 

In 1676 year of fire male tiger year of 11th rabjung, he got enthroned and made the master of Ngor Evam choedhen dharma throne. Profound and vast dharma when was set in motion by him marked by teaching of precious lamdre teachings 11 times altogether. His disciples included Je sherab Gyatso, the abbot of Pa zhalu Pa, Namgyal Sangpo, the great abbot of Thubten Namgyal, sangey sonam, the great abbot of Thubten Yangpachen, Yonten Gyatso, the tulku (reincarnated master) of Jangchub ling. Thus produced several scholars and realised master.  He composed four volumes of work which included texts on dharma history, biographies of masters and commentary on treatise and so on. Having appointed Sharchen Sangay Tenzin as his substitute in the earth snake year, he travelled to Great seat of tsedhong and towards Utsang etc where he propelled the deeds of teaching and meditation.  Further, as requested by Lama tsewang dorjee of Deghe Sakyong, in the hare year he travelled to Dho Kham where he engaged in dharma deeds through giving empowerments, oral transmissions and teachings, increased the number of sanghas, established (drub choe) usually involving days of meditational prayer ceremonies that included sand or otherwise mandala creation. In particular, having instructed his uncle and nephews established the temple of Lhundrub Teng, established temple in number of monasteries, also built up a number of shrines of Holy Body, Holy Speech and Holy Mind. Eventually, in 1705 year of wooden bird year of 12th Rabjung he passed away with the intention of benefitting other sentient beings. 

From a very young age he set out to memorise alphabets onwards to daily prayers, abhisamayalankara and so on number of great treatises. 

At 24 years of age, he came to evam and from Master sherab jungney’s kindness took the three vows was given the name Lhundup Palden. 

From sharchen himself, sakya shabdrung amilag yeysey. Lhen chen sonam Gyatso and so on received a total of 15 times lamdre accumulated from 5 in each year. He engaged in inconceivable amount of hearing and contemplation. 

At thirty-seven years of age, he was the chant master of prayer and tutor at Ngor. At 50 years of age, in the water ox year having ascended to the dharma throne of Ngorchen Kunga Sangpo turned the wheel of dharma uninterruptedly marked by teaching precious lamdre teachings 15 times. His disciples included Sakyapa ngawang sonam Wangchuk father and son, dhagchen kunga tsahi, sharchen sangay tenzin, those at Ngor Seat, thubten Go nyi, upper and lower kyedtsul produced number of disciples and devotees. His composition included biographies, praises to gurus and so on a set of dharma. At sixty third years of age, having given the great seat to Sangey Phuntsok, he engaged in meditational retreat.

Eventually, at seventy fourth years of age in the year of fire ox year of 12th rabjung, in 1697, in phendhe khang at Ngor Evam he passed away.
