Jampa Kunga Tenpei Gyaltsen

He was born in the earth ox year of 14th Rabjung in 1829 in tsang Zhika Samdrub tser, as the son to father Gyalpo Tsering and Mother Dolma Tsering. At 4th year of age, he came to Glorious Evam Choedhen. He got involved in the study of always required seven treatises via listening and contemplation.

He was born in the earth ox year of 14th Rabjung in 1829 in tsang Zhika Samdrub tser, as the son to father Gyalpo Tsering and Mother Dolma Tsering. At 4th year of age, he came to Glorious Evam Choedhen. He got involved in the study of always required seven treatises via listening and contemplation. From his uncle Khenchen Jampa Kunga Tenzin as the abbot and Yogi Jampal Zangpo as the in charge of the activity and so on gradually with three statements got ordained. He took the mahayana bodhicitta vows in three traditions and prioritised the practice of bodhisattva as very important. To great abbot vajradhara brothers and so on he listened to and took the empowerments, explanation teachings and pithy instructions related to four classes of tantras. Furthermore, from both Jamyang Khyentse wangpo and Jampeyang Ngawang Lekdrub he studied grammar, logic, poetry, composition, communications, medicines he became to be known as Maha Pandita or Great Scholar. 

Also, Kalachakra, two root tantras, Manjushrinamasangiti and so on Vajrayana commentaries and also listened to the complete teachings of both older and newer kadampa traditions. From Vajradhara brothers mouth he listened to and perfected the study of pithy instructions of both types of Lamdre (assembly and disciple teaching) in whispered lineage comprising 4 validities. At 23rd year of age, in the iron pig year he ascended upon the throne of the Vajradhara. He turned the wheel of dharma uninterruptedly marked by Lam Dre teaching to the assembly 8 times and Lamdre teachings to the disciples 5 times and hundred sadhanas three times. He had a great number of scholars and realised masters. In particular, he had Khangsar Khenchen Jampeiyang Tenpei Nyima, Khenchen Jamyang Sherab Gyatso, Phenkhang Khenpo Paldhen Lodoe Gyaltsen, Khenchen Jamyang Rinchen Dorjee, Chabdo Gyatrul Rinpoche Thubten Jigmed Choekyi Wangchuk, Risur Lama Rinchen Lobsang Khyenrab, Kunga Jamyang Paldhen and so on who became his heart disciple to whom he gave the doctrine of Lamdre to the Disciple tradition.  

His composition work consists of Thartse Uncle Cousin Trio accounts five volumes exists for the benefit of the disciples. Eventually, at 42 years of age, in the Iron Horse year of 15th Rabjung in 1870 he passed away peacefully.
