Jamyang Sherab Gyatso
He was born in the year 1396 in the fire mouse seventh rabjung year in a village/town known as Chumig Gi Ja dhab Chug (rich birds in stream) as the son of Father Gyaltsen Thar and mother Lhundrub Gyalmo. Great Master Kunga Rinchen gave him the name Sonam Phel. At the 14 years of age. Amidst the abbot of Sherab, the 14th seat holder, the master of Sherab Pal and Chandra Dewa he became ordained. He was given the name Sherab Gyatso Pal. At 20 years of age, he received the full ordination vows.
Furthermore, undertook and mastered ocean like education studying under eminent scholars and meditation masters such as Great master Dakpa Lodoe, Great Rongton, Khenchen Yakpa, Poekhan Rinchen Gyaltsen, Dharma King Sonam Lodoe, Panchen Nagrin, Khenchen Kunga Rinchen, Kunkhyen Sherab Pal, Choeje Wonton Thubpa, Choeje Dakpa thondrup, Muechen empa chenpo etc.
In particular, he studied under Ngorchen Vajradhara Kunga Sangpo for a long time and perfected the practice of hearing, contemplating and meditation by receiving the lam dre (path and result) teaching for 13 times. As per the intention and advise he remained at the seat Thubten Thargay Ling for 11 years. In the water snake year, he was appointed on the throne of Evam Choedhen.and remained as the throne holder for five years.
Disseminated the teachings of the Buddha through bestowal of many pithy instructions, empowerment, detailed teachings highlighted by by bestowal of Lamdre 15 times.
His disciples included Gyaltsab thampa kunga Wangchuk, khacharwa Sonam Gyaltsen, Khedrub Paldorwa, Chen nga kunga dorje brothers, Jamchne khnepo kunga tashi, Chudhui scholar and meditator Yonten Gyatso, Panchen Shakya Chogdhen, Nyagwe Yonten odser dakpa rinchen, Kyangthur Khenpo Kochonk pal, Loppon Sonam Wangchuk, Yonten Choegyal the abbot of Thubten Thargey Ling, Shey rabjam, the abbot of Gyaljed Tsal etc. At the 70 years of age of earth bird year he was appointed as the throne holder by regent Kunga Wangchuk. The guru remained in single pointed meditation of holy mind. Eventually at the age of 79 in the year 1498 of Wooden Horse year of 8th Rabjung passed into nirvana.
