Je Konchok Phel
In the year Wood Ox of Seventh Rabjung, 1445, was born as the son of father Tashi Lekpa and Mother Bu Dren Kyid at Glorious Sakya. At seven years of age, he received his upasaka vows from Vajradhara Kunga Zangpo and was given the name Arigphel. At a very young age he came to Ngor and sought the guidance of Khuwo Choeje Kunga Wangcuk. From abbot and preceptors comprising of Je Sempa Chenpo and Jamyang Sherjam etc took the vows of a monk. He was given the name Konchok Phel.
At Thirty-six years of age, under abbot Palden Dorje and Preceptor Kunkhyen Sonam Senge etc took the vows of a fully ordained monk. Completed his practice of listening, contemplating, and meditating under the guidance of above-mentioned abbot, preceptor, Muechen Sempa Chenpo, Jetsun Kunga Wangchuk and Palden Choekyong and so on. Came to Mustang for Chag choeje Kunga Wangchuk. Horse year came to the throne of Vajradhara and for 28 years performed the deeds of disseminating the dharma marked by Teaching Lamdre teachings each year to innumerable disciples residing in central, tsang and eastern Tibet.
His disciples included many scholars and realised masters including Muechen Sangye Rinchen, Khenchen Sonam Lhundrup, Choeje Conam Gyaltsen Palsangpo, Khyenrab Wangchuk Konchog Tsultrim of Palkhor Dharma Institution, Sherab Palden, the great abbot of Narthang, Rinchen Palzang, teacher of hundred texts, the great abbot of Gadhong, Choeje Norbu Phuntsog of Kyedtsal. At Iron Bird year of eight Rabjung he appointed Muechen Sangye Rinchen as the throne holder of Ngor, the master went into retreat in Thartse. At 58 years of age in earth dog year of ninth Rabjung (1514) passed into nirvana in Thartse.
