Khangsar Khen Rinpoche Ngawang Yonten Gyatso
He was born as the son to father Kargha of the family of Drongla Khatsang of upper Ga and mother Dronla Wangmo. Having recognised as a reincarnated person as Khangsar Khenchen (great abbot) Ngawang Sonam he was invited to Khangsar Labrang and was given the honorific title of Zhabdrung.
Having received Precious Lamdre Teachings, inconceivable number of empowerments, tantra, pithy instructions bodhisattva vows and individual liberation vows from Khenchen, the great Vajradhara, his mental continuum was greatly enriched. Having relied upon the guidance of his two uncles as well as number of other eminent teachers he reached across the ocean of knowledge which include the knowledge of Sutra, Tantra and other knowable topics. Completed meditational retreats of number of tutelary deities. He served as the regent of Ngor Evampa for three years. Through the bestowal of precious lamdre teachings and three vows many disciples were connected or placed upon the state of ripening and liberation. He was sought after and relied upon as the object of veneration by Khenthri Drubpa and the head of the King of Bhutan. The kings and his disciples respected him as the crown of their head. His deeds in Bhutan was so great that he came to be regarded as Drukpa Khen Rinpoche meaning the precious Bhutanese abbot. Having spent a big amount of his time in Dokham or Eastern Tibet he maintained a vast amount of deeds for sentient beings and dharma. He constructed a stupa of Victorious Ones laced with gold and silver as well as several shrines of holy body, holy speech and holy mind.
Moved by compassion for the benefit of other disciples in other realms he perform the act of absorbing his physical self into the sphere of phenomena or dharmadhatu. (the time of his birth and passing away is unknown).
