Khenchen Sonam Paljor
He was born in the Fire Monkey year of 13th Rabjung 1776 in Tsen Gyatso Ling of the nearby area of Ngor Evam Choedhen as the son to Pema Dhondub and Mother Pedma Buthrid. From a very young age he came to Thartse Palace of Evam Choedhen and conducted listening and contemplation. From Vajradhara Namkha Chimed he received the kindness of three vows. From about 25 eminent masters such as Dhamthog Rinchen Drag, Khenchen Ngawang Thamchoe, Phenkhang Paldhen Rinchen Choezod, Khenchen Namkha Chimed etc received precious lamdre teachings etc. and conducted listening and contemplation to a sea of pithy instructions of whispered/ear to ear lineage. Completed meditational retreat on several deities including Glorious Hevajra. At 36 years of age in the iron sheep year he was enthroned upon the dharma throne of Vajradhara Kunga Zangpo.
For nine years as the throne holder, through enlightening activities of teach, debate, and write and through wisdom, compassion and spiritual ability further disseminated the teachings of second victorious one. Deghe Dharma King invited him twice and through genuine relationship he further flourished enlightening activities. He gave the fully ordained vows to the dharma king. Turned the wheel of dharma uninterruptedly: gave Lamdre (tsog shed) ten times in total and Lam Dre Lob Shed four times. His disciples included Ngawang Kunga Tashi Thubten Zangpo and so on five masters born in the Khon Lineage. Yogi Jampal Zangpo and so on six of them resided upon the throne of Vajradhara. Jamyang Khemtse Wangpo and so on five ornaments of the world. Jamyang Namkha Gyaltsen and so on eight shabdrungs of Ngor. Lha Sey Tsewang Dorje and so on four father and sons of Dharma king. Eventually, at the 87 year of age in the water dog year of the 14th Rabjung, 1862 he passed away into Nirvana.
