Kunkhyen Gowo Rabjampa Sonam Senge
This master is the seventh rabjung of water bird year, in 1429 year was in Tibet land of Bom, was born as the son of father Rutsa Zhang Kyab and mother Gyalwamen. He was given the name Minyag Palden. At the 8th year of age, from abbot Sonam Odser, Gowo Rabjampa Sherab pal and kachupa jinsang and so on received number of teachings and became a scholar and such was referred to as Gowo Rabjampa.
At nineteen years of age, he arrived in Central Tibet. At glorious Nalendra stayed at the feet of great Rongton and tasted the nectar of teachings. At the age of 21, at the dharma place of Dreyul Kyedtsal and having arrived at the feet of Kunkhyan Sangye Phel. Internalised all words and meanings all teachings of paramitas, logic, Vinaya and Abhidharma. At the age of twenty sixth he arrived in Evam Choedhen and amidst the presence of required number of sanghas of abbot and preceptor including Vajradhara Kinga Zangpo he became fully ordained. For four years, from the very mouth of very master himself received inconceiveably profound teachings of Lamdre and Chakrasamvara, Hevajra and Guhyasamaja etc. Also, from close to a dozen of scholars and meditative masters including Muechen Sempa Chenpo perfected listening to and contemplation on seas of teachings of Sutra and Mantra Lamdre teachings and so on.
From when he was thirty years old for four years at Kyedtsal performed the deed of listening and teaching dharma. At 38 years of age, established the dharma-flourishin-place of Tanag Serling. For eight years propagated the feast of teachings. Eight his 45th years of age, during the 8th Rabjung of water snake year established the dharma institution of Thubten Nampar Gyalwa (triumphant of Buddha’s teachings). By these deeds, the cycle of dissemination of the teachings of Buddha shone like the sun.
At 55 years of age, for four years which is from water rabbit year onwards until fire horse year held the throne of Ngor Evam Choedhen. Disseminated vastly the practice and teachings Sutra and Mantra including Lamdre etc. Through this, he popularised further the tradition of teach, debate, and compose.
His composition includes fifteen volume worktexts of sutra and mantra, commentaries, and detailed teachings.
His students include three great beings including (Great-Self) Dhagchen Sonam Gyaltsen, five crown ornaments including Choeje Gyalwa Odser, five great pillars including Jamyang Kunchoesang, Kongton Wangchuk Drub, Yongzin Konchok Phelwa, Choeje Sangringpa etc twelve beautifying ornaments of the land of snow. Je Lhachok Senge etc inconceivable amount of 6 illuminators of teachings. Finally, at the age of sixty-eight during the water bird year of 8th Rabjung, 1489 western year in Ngonmo Dzong went into nirvana on the 21st date of Miraculous Month.
