Matchless Sonam Paldhen
He was born in 1679 in the Earth Bird year of the eleventh rabjung as the son of Father Dhonyoe Pal and Mother Aagoe in in Chyg Zhung Pel Kyar in TSANG. He was given the name Kathubyal. At a very young age entered the gate of dharma in EVAM. Having offered the tip of his hair to Jamgon Lhundup Paldhen and was bestowed the name Sonam Paldhen.
From Naljor Kunsang, Jamgon Lhundup Paldhen. Sharchen Yeshe Zangpo, Khwdrup Sangyey Phuntsog. Sharchen Sangyey Tenzin. Jampa Tsultrim Palzang and so on number of teachers he relied upon and received number of teachings and empowerments including teachings on pratimoksha/Individual Liberation teachings, Bodhisattva teachings and Vajrayana teachings including empowerments, oral transmissions, and pithy instructions of Precious Lamdre teachings.
Completed retreats of number of tutelary deities. At 21 years of age travelled to deghe chagra zilnon gar and benefitted sentient beings.
At 42 years of age, in the iron tiger year, he was anointed upon the throne of Ngorchen Kunga Zangpo. He turned uninterruptedly the wheel of dharma of profundity and vastness which included precious lamdre teachings and so on. Thus, placed disciples upon the stages of ripening and liberation.
His disciples included Jampa Sonam Zangpo, Jampa Namkha Samdrub, Naljor Tashi Lhundrub, Jamgon Tsultrim Lhundrub, Zhabdrung Paldhen Zangpo, Zhabdrung Namkha Gyaltsen, Choeje Dorje Dhenpa and so on many disciples produced.
In Brief, this noble master, through the modes of teaching and meditation disseminated the teachings of Buddha. Eventually, at 45 years of age, in 1713 in the water snake year of 12th Rabjung he passed away peacefully.
