Sharchen Jampa Kunga Tashi

He was born in 1558 of the earth horse year of Ninth Rabjung in the Gura Labrang of Glorious Sakya, Tibet as the son of Father Kunga Yeshe and Mother Wangdhen Gyalmo. He was given Kunga Paljor as his name. He memorised mulatantra of two segments and Tsul Jon when he was nine-ten years old.

He was born in 1558 of the earth horse year of Ninth Rabjung in the Gura Labrang of Glorious Sakya, Tibet as the son of Father Kunga Yeshe and Mother Wangdhen Gyalmo. He was given Kunga Paljor as his name. He memorised mulatantra of two segments and Tsul Jon when he was nine-ten years old. He arrived at Glorious Evam Choedhen when he reached 11 years old. From abbot Sangey Senge he studied precious teaching lam dre and mulatantra of two segments and so on. Under this eminent abbot and from great preceptor Eminent Sharkhangpa and so on. He was given the name Kunga Tashi.

Furthermore, he relied upon other masters including eminent konchok palden, dhatroepa lodoe tashi, mantradhara ngagi gi wangpo kunga rinchen, jamyang konchok Gyatso, jamyang kunga sonam lhundrub, great throne holder sonam wangpo and so on. Having undertaken study of number of teachings marked by lamdre five times he became to be known as a scholar. From sixteen years of age, he functioned as the tutor at Glorious Evam. At 22 years of age, under Jamyang Konchok Gyatso and others he undertook the vows of a fully ordained one. He was given the name Kunga Tashi Drakpa Gyaltsen Palzangpo.

At twenty-nine years of age he went to Dhokham area and there he performed noble deeds for 8 years and disseminated the teachings of general sakya and in particular the teachings of omniscient evampa. At 38 years of age in the wooden sheep year, he was coronated on the throne of vajradhara kunga Zangpo. He nurtured the monastic centre for 21 years and turned the wheel of dharma marked by precious lam dre teachings twenty times.

Disciples also included Great-Self Jamyang Thutob Wangchuk, great self kunga sangpo, Evam Khenchen Paldhen Thondup, Khenchen Namkha sangye and so on number of disciples in three areas of central, tsang and kham. His elegant communication (text) included pithy instructions, group of praises, list of teachings received and so on a total of thirty-seven composition works. Thus became a guide/protector of the teachings and sentient beings. Eventually at 58th years of age in 1615 of wooden hare year of tenth rabjung he passed away into nirvana.
