Thartse Khenchen Rinpoche Jampa Namkha Kunsang Tenpei Gyaltsen
His Eminence was born in the lineage of Zhalu Kuzhang. From a very young age, he resided at the Thartse Labrang and was regarded with the honorific title of a Zhabdrung. Having relied upon many eminent teachers, he completed the study of listening and contemplating ocean-like texts and treatises of sutra and mantra of both common and uncommon kinds.
From Thartse Khenchen Jamyang Kunsang Thubten Choekyi Gyaltsen, he received the
kindness of three vows via receiving a vast number of profound teachings, including Precious Lamdre Teachings, Individual Vows, and Bodhisattva vows. He completed several meditational retreats on tutelary deities. Zhabdrung, during the initial days, traveled to Ladakh, where he carried out dharma tasks that benefited several sentient beings and dharma.
His kindness included the composition of new, detailed prayers of appeal (kang So) addressing two dharma protectors of Rong and Tsan.
Having traveled to Upper Ga and Deghe, etc, in Do Kham (eastern Tibet), he contributed to the flourishing of dharma and touched a number of sentient beings with kindness.
Having returned to the great seat of Ngor, he ascended to the throne and became the great regent of the Great Evam in the fire rabbit year and served as the abbot throne holder. He benefitted and nourished an inconceivable number of disciples through the kind actions of the bestowal of Precious Lamdre Teachings and so on Three Vows.
In the Iron Dragon Year, he passed away for the sake of others. (Date of his birth is unclear)
